A sub meter is an energy meter installed downstream of the main fiscal meter. It allows companies to identify specific areas of energy usage, identify potential excess energy waste and allows for specific areas, equipment and or lighting to be costed through energy budgeting for example.
Why should I Sub Meter?
Increasing energy costs are frequently the largest variable expense for companies.
- Record actual energy usage (no estimation)
- Analytical tool for allocating costs to tenants, departments
- Analytical tool for energy management
- Compliance with green building initiatives
- Measurement & verification of energy conservation programs
ENMAT Energy Monitoring for Sub Metering
ENMAT has extensive Energy Monitoring Solutions that allows for Main Metering and Sub Metering to co-exist. It also allows you to set specific energy targets for companies, sites, and sub metered areas and benchmarks current consumption against previous times.
Climate Change Levy Agreement and Sub Metering
If a site uses more than 70% of its primary energy in eligible processes then the entire site will be deemed to be eligible to be included in the CCA.
If a site uses less than 70% in its eligible processes then it can claim for all its eligible energy plus 3/7th and all energy included in the CCA has to be sub-metered.
